Thankfully it’s not an everyday occurrence but sometimes the wonderful beings we share our lives with require blood transfusions to help save their lives.

We are looking to create a donor list of dogs that we can if needed, call on to donate blood.

The requirements to become a blood donor are quite stringent so sadly not all dogs will be able to join the list.

But if you have a dog who is:

• Fit and healthy
• Between the ages 1-8yrs old
• 25kg or more
• Well behaved with a lovely temperament
• Never travelled outside the UK and Ireland
• Annual vaccinations up to date
• Not on any medications

Then they may be eligible to join the list!

If you have a dog that fits the bill and you’d like to sign them up then please call us to book an appt with Maia or Rochelle, our wonderful RVNs heading up the list. The appointment will involve a health check, questionnaire, a blood sample to determine blood type and lots of treats and is free of charge.
