Seeing the vet

All consults with our experienced vets are a minimum of 20 minutes, so you won’t be rushed.

Sick pet consultations

If you’re concerned about your pet or are worried something’s just not quite right, then you will have a consultation with one of our fantastic vets.

Itching? Limping? Diarrhoea? The first place to start is with a full consultation with the vet.

Wellness checks and vaccinations

New puppy, kitten or rabbit? Or is your pet due an annual health check and booster? Then you will see the vet for a thorough examination and checkup.

It’s also a chance to discuss any niggling doubts or concerns you may have.

Long term health conditions

If your pet is on any medication long term for specific health conditions, then we may need to see them more often to make sure their condition is being managed well and discuss ongoing treatment plans.

Emergencies

Sometimes emergencies happen, and if they do then you will be in safe hands. Our Nurses and Vets are all highly trained to make sure we do the best for your pet.

Seeing the nurse

Consultations with our highly skilled Registered Veterinary Nurses (RVNs) are 20 minutes long.

Exotic pet checks

At BSEVC we have Matt and Simon, who are both highly skilled RVNs with a certificate in exotics.

In veterinary terms if you have a pet that is not a cat or a dog then it likely to come under the umbrella of exotics.

If you need husbandry advice or your pet needs ongoing care for certain conditions or a general health check then our nurses have got you covered.

Weight clinics

It’s all too easy to pile on the pounds and it won’t be doing your pet any favors. Our nurses run free weight clinics to help you get everything back under control. They are trained to give nutritional and exercise advice and the regular appointments can really help keep things on track.

Dental checks

Sadly, dental disease is all too common amongst the nations pets. That’s why you can have a free dental check with our nurses, and they can advise on preventative measures or advise if your pet may need any dental work carrying out.

Nail clips

Our nurses are pros at these. We understand it can sometimes take a little patience and kindness or even bribery.

Anal glands

Not anyone’s favorite job but when its needs doing, it needs doing and our nurses will get the job done.

Puppy and kitten checks

We understand you can have a lot of questions when you get a new pet. Thankfully our nurses are able to answer most questions, and if they cant they will find out for you.

New pet advice

Thinking of getting a new pet but not sure what, or you’ve decided on a dog but you’re not sure which type is best for you. Our nurses offer free chats to help you come to a decision that’s right for you and your family.

Senior pet checks

Unfortunately, as your pet gets older the chances of them having a medical condition increase. Through a few checks including urine samples, weight checks and a general check over we can pick up medical conditions much earlier meaning treatment is much more likely to be successful.

Nutritional advice

What to feed your pet can be a minefield. There are so many options out there today that it can be easy to get lost amongst all the information. Our nurses can offer unbiased advice tailored to your individual pet.

Post Op checks

If your pet has recently had an operation with us then it is likely you will see one of the nurses for the follow up checks and suture removal if required.
