Advanced Veterinary Procedures

At BSEVC we are lucky to have several vets who have completed additional training or qualifications in advanced veterinary procedures. Between our vets we have special interests in Dentistry, Orthopaedics, Soft tissue surgery, Ophthalmology and Cardiology. This ensures that in many cases, you will not need to travel further afield for treatment at specialist centres.

The benefits
  • Super speedy recoveries. Patients can return to off lead exercise after 48 hours compared to the usual 10-14 days.
  • Reduced post operative pain.
  • Two teeny tiny incisions only.
  • Reduced risk of bleeding.
  • Smaller incisions and reduced pain result in reduced risk of wound interference and infection.
If you wish to find out more then you can book a free pre neuter check with one of our nurses who will be able to run through the options with you.

Ophthalmology

James is currently undertaking a certificate in ophthalmology. He can see consults for more complicated eye conditions as well as carry out a number of ophthalmologic surgeries, from cherry eye surgery to entropion correction and dermoid removals.

Cardiology

We are lucky enough to have several vets that can undertake echocardiography (heart scans) to investigate and diagnose the cause of heart murmurs and other cardiac issues.
